A new trend in kitchen design is to use drawers in the lower cabinets rather then cabinet doors. Drawers of equal height look more balanced. However, this creates and interesting dilemma – how to keep smaller items, such as utensils and silverware in these deep drawers. One solution is to create a two-drawer system (two drawers within the top drawer). This creates extra storage and easy access to most used small items.
