REPAIRING THE CENTURY-OLD HOUSE

We are sharing another one of our ‘puzzle projects’ with you. In the middle of winter, a client approached us and said that water was leaking from their ceiling, causing their house to be flooded like a ‘waterfall.’ The homeowners decided to seek the services of a specialized company called ‘Forensic Siding Inspection’ to determine the cause of the ceiling leakage (although we always recommend inviting specialized inspectors, in this case, this step could have been skipped). The experts discovered that the ceiling was leaking in areas where the edge of the roof connected to the horizontal board on which the gutter was hanging.

That’s when they called our company Wieldy Construction. They removed the gutter and found that the board on which the gutter was supposed to hang was not there at all! The gutter was installed incorrectly, causing water from the roof to flow between the gutter and the house and eventually reach the plank where the gutter was supposed to hang. Over time, the board completely rotted. When it rained, water poured into the house like a waterfall.

Of course, we all diligently repaired: installed new boards, patched cracks in the roof, adjusted the drain, repaired the roof of the house. Water can no longer pass. Therefore, thanks to the professional work of our Wieldy Construction team, this century-old house will stand for another 100 years.
